We are looking for sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers to be a part of this international conference!
What and when is this conference?
The 5th International Conference on Occupational & Environmental Health is planned to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam on September 10 to 12, 2018. The conference will examine workplace safety and environmental health conditions and describe methods to evaluate and control hazards. This international conference is an opportunity for local and international scientists to exchange information and experiences on research studies on maritime safety, occupational and environmental health, school health, and intervention measures on health promotion and protection for workers, school children, and community.
Who is hosting?
The National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (NIOEH) is a unit under the Vietnam Ministry of Health. NIOEH is a World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Occupational Health.
Why is this conference of global significance?
The International Labor Organization estimates that, globally, about 2.3 million people die every year from occupational injury and illness. Of this total, about 350,000 deaths are due to fatal occupational injuries; an enormous toll of suffering for workers and their families, employers and society. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) occupational risk factors contribute markedly to global illness and injury: 37% of back pain, 16% of hearing loss, 13% of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), 11% of asthma, 9% of Trachea, bronchus lung cancer, 8% of injuries, and 2% of leukemia.
Who will be there and why?
Participants will include local and international scientists and policy makers in occupational safety and environmental health (OSEH). Several key international OSEH entities are expected to attend, including: the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Occupational Hygiene Training Association (OHTA). These entities are keys to advancing OSEH information globally. The conference aims to provide a platform to: share information on research and interventions in OSEH; partner internationally on OSEH areas of mutual interest; share international training methods and opportunities; and promote internationally transfer and adaptation of OSEH new knowledge. The conference will offer researchers and OSEH experts the opportunity to attend presentations and poster sessions that feature OSEH research and case studies.
This conference brings together occupational safety and environmental health professionals as well as policy makers for networking and collaboration. There will be a wealth of networking and marketing opportunities among the international audience and as an exhibitor you will be able to engage with the scientists and decision-makers in the most direct approach. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with organizing this international conference. For further details please contact:
